Suttur JSS Institutions Celebrate 110th Birth Anniversary of His Holiness Dr. Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji Along with Teachers’ Day

Suttur, September 12, 2025: Suttur JSS Institutions celebrated the 110th birth anniversary of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji and Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and devotion.

The program commenced with puja at the shrine in the morning, after which the idol of His Holiness Mahaswamiji was placed on a robotic elephant and taken out in a grand procession within the school premises. Various art groups participated, adding color and devotion to the celebration. Administrators, coordinators, and staff members joined the event with deep reverence.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. N.K. Loknath, Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore, highlighted the immense contribution of JSS institutions to society through Akshara Dasoha, Arogya Dasoha, and Anna Dasoha initiatives. He noted that it was due to the motherly heart of His Holiness, that thousands of poor and underprivileged individuals were able to transform their lives. Prof. Loknath urged everyone to adopt the ideals of Pujya Sri in life. He also emphasized that the knowledge and wisdom of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great philosopher and educationist, earned worldwide respect. Students, he said, should focus not only on academics but also on developing skills in music, art, and sports to succeed in a rapidly changing society.

Shri V.M. Prabhuswamy, Assistant Director, Tourism Department, serving as the chief guest, lauded the unique service of Suttur Sri Math. He said that lakhs of students have built their lives with the blessings of His Holiness Shri Rajendra Mahaswamiji. He pointed out that the work of Sri Math spreading across the state, the nation, and even abroad is a testament to its significance. On Teachers’ Day, he urged everyone to follow the ideal life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a true leader in student life, as a model.

Delivering the introductory remarks, Shri G.L. Tripurantaka, Coordinator, described His Holiness Swamiji as a great saint who brought about a cultural and educational revolution in India. He said that Mahaswamiji illuminated the lives of rural people and extended the concept of service into the realms of health and education.

On this occasion, Shri S. Chandramouleshwar, Headmaster of the Sanskrit Pathshala, who was honored with the Taluk-level Best Teacher Award, was felicitated. Prizes were distributed to winners of various cultural competitions and sports events organized for staff members and heads of institutions. School students who excelled academically also received prizes from various charities.

The program was presided over by Shri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrator of Suttur JSS Institutions. Distinguished dignitaries present included Sri S. Shivaswamy of Sri Matha, and heads of JSS organizations such as Sri Veerabhadraiah, Dr. Gnanesh, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Sri M. Rajashekaramurthy, Sri G. Shivamallu, Sri M. Gu. Basavanna, Sri G.M. Shadakshari, Sri G. Shivaswamy, Sri Mahadev Prasad, and Smt. Sushila.

The program also included prayers by school students. Sri G.N. Manjunath delivered the welcome address, Sri M. Rajashekaramurthy administered the oath, Smt. K.S. Mamatha proposed the vote of thanks, and Smt. D.S. Ambika narrated the proceedings.
