Sri Suttur Math and JSS MVP donates Rs. 5 lakh to Mysuru zoo

Mysuru, May 13, 2020: The Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, in Mysuru, has restricted entry of visitors from the last few weeks due to the lockdown imposed by the government following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of this, the revenue has decreased and it has become difficult for the zoo authority to look after all the birds and animals of the zoo. Noticing this the Suttur Srimath in association with the JSS Mahavidyapeetha donated a sum of Rs. 5.00 lakh on May 8, 2020. Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji handed over the cheque through Minister Sri Jagadish Shettar, Sri S.T. Somashkear and Sri Byrathi Basavaraj to Sri B.P. Ravi, Member Secretary, Zoo Authority, and Sri Ajit M. Kulkarni, Executive Director, in the Srimath premises in Mysuru.

The Srimath has been donating a sum of Rs. 1 lakh to the Chamarajendra Zoological Garden for maintenance of animals every year on August 29, on the occasion of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s Jayanthi celebrations, from several years.

Sri Pratap Simha, Mysuru MP, MLAs Sri S. A. Ramadas, Sri G.T. Devegowda, Sri Harshawardhan, former Ministers Sri A.H. Vishwanath, former MLA Sri M.K. Somashekar, Worshipful Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Sri C.G. Betsurmath, Sri S.P. Manjunath, Sri S.Shivakumaraswamy of JSS MVP and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
