Suttur, January 26, 2020: The 71st Republic Day celebrations were held in a grand way at the JSS Educational Institution, in Suttur, in the divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. He hoisted the National flag.
Dr. S. Shivarudraswamy, of the Gowdara Mudduveerappa Memorial Hospital, Kollegal, in his address to the students said that the draft copy of the constitution was prepared by the Constitution Draft Committee under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was approved on November 26, 1949. The Indian constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, after several rounds of revisions and making several amendments. He also said that it would be appropriate to remember Allamaprabhu on this occasion who had undertaken several social services works through the Anubhava Mantapa in the 12th Century itself.
Sri Mahanta Swami of the Sri Gurumalleshwara Dasoha Mahasamsthana, Devanuru and Ni.Pra.Swa. Sri Channabasava Deshikendra Swami of the Salilaakhya Math, Bettadapura gave their blessings. Sri Vachananda Mahaswamiji of the Veerashaiva-Lingayath Panchamasali Peetha, Harishar graced the occasion.
Smt. B.C. Parimala Shyam, ZP member, Mysuru, presided over the programme. Smt. Gowramma Somashekar, Vice President, ZP, Mysuru, Sri N. Siddegowda, President, Mysuru District Milk Federation, Sri B.L. Patil, President, Athani Vimochana Sangha, Sri H.S. Somashekar, industrialist, Bengaluru, Sri J.R. Patil, social worker from Dhanwad in Maharashtra, Sri Shivakumar, Proprietor, Mahalakshmi Sweets and Sri P. Niranjan, Industrialist, Bengaluru, were present on the occasion.
Earlier the programme commenced with an invocation by the school students. While Sri M. Rajashekaramurthy welcomed, Sri G. Prakash gave a vote of thanks and Sri Andaiah Shirurumath compered.
