Mysuru, May 2, 2019: “Unexpected hurdles are common in whatever work we do. It makes us lose hope. In such circumstances, it is quite common that people get scared and disappointed. But people who possess genuine leadership qualities face the situation with a positive attitude and find the right solution,” opined Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
He participated in the Personality Development programme held as part of the ‘Retreat camp held for Medical Students’, at Suttur Srikshetra. Addressing the students he opined, “developing a good leadership quality, encouraging creativity, learning from the good qualities of the followers, providing an opportunity for everybody to work independently, have a concern about personal problems of colleagues, appreciating good works done by others, are some of the good qualities of a leader.”
Dr. M.S. Visveswaraiah, of Bharath Cancer Hospital, Mysuru, in his address said, “motivating others, accepting others works or demanding, are common factors that occur in our daily personal lives. Communication plays an important role in such circumstances and it should fulfill the purpose. Good communication skills have the strength to attract all and solve any problem. Along with working skills, we should know how to talk. Good communication skills help to achieve success professionally,” he said.
Dr. H.N. Shashidhar, Psychologist, of NIMHANS, Bengaluru, in his address, said, “there are several ways to manage mental stress. Adopting exercise, good lifestyle, changing our food habits, keeping our mind and soul peaceful and calm always, developing a positive attitude, can be very helpful in managing various diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, etc.”
The camp commenced with a prayer in the early morning followed by yoga, meditation, and pranayama. The students expressed their happiness by seeing the pristine nature of Suttur Srikshetra.
