The Minister of State for Agriculture Kum. Shobha Karandlaje was speaking inaugurating the Agriculture Seminar (Topic: Significance of Millets) at Sutturu Jathra Mahotsava. She said that “Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has expanded the budget on agriculture to Rs. 1.32 lakh crores and under Krishi Vikas Yojana around 1.2 crores has been reserved for the development of agriculture production units. She further added, “the world has realised the health benefits of millets and is ready to buy quality millets and millet-based products. So, the farmers should come together to set up production centres and export the products”.

The Agriculture seminar was inaugurated in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Sri G.T Deve Gowda, MLA, Chamundeshwari, Sri HR Ranganath, Chief, Public TV, Sri Honnur Prakash, Progressive Farmer and Sri MN Dinesh Kumar spoke on the occasion. Jagadguru Sri Niranjanananda Puri Mahaswamiji of Sri Kanaka Guru Peetha, Kaginele and Sri Shadaksharimuni Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion.
