Suttur, May 9, 2019: “Education without teachers is unimaginable. Teachers are those who produce the creators of a beautiful society,” opined Sri K. Jayaprakashrao, Chairman, Akhila Bharata Sarvajanika Samparka Mahamandali, South India Chapter, Mysuru.
He participated in the inauguration function of the personality development camp held for teachers, at the Suttur Srikshetra. In his address, he said, “efforts of a teacher exists behind every successful achiever. While the role of a mother in nurturing her kids is very important, the role of a teacher is also important for the intellectual development of a child. If a teacher restricts himself in teaching, nobody can obtain complete knowledge. In our country, so many national leaders have taken their time out to enjoy teaching experience. Our former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is one among them. The teachers should strive to inculcate values and character of such great leaders,” he added.
Prof. H.S. Umesh, Principal (Retd.) expressed his view that creativity cannot be learned and used. The curriculum of each and every subject intends to provide vast knowledge. It is the duty of the teachers to know how much importance should be given to each subject, what should be taught to the children and what not. If teachers understand what is correct and required, they can easily implement it in the classroom through creative activities. Such creative thinking of teachers, activities, and teaching will enable the students to know about their strengths and capabilities. It also helps the students when they enter higher education or when they join a job. When the subject knowledge flows creatively it helps to find new ways,” he observed.
Quoting Varakavi Da. Ra. Bendre, litterateur Dr. G. Krishnappa said, “peace and co-existence prevail in a society that has awareness of the importance of knowledge, it helps in building an ideal society. The future of a country will be hopeful when culture is seeded in the children’s mind when they are still young. Hence, all of us should try to grow our children as a treasure of knowledge. Literature and knowledge increase the values of life. Literature can take a person on the right path of life. A person will become special if he possesses knowledge in science, develops a philosophical mind and a poets heart. While science gives light to life, literature provides value-based life and happiness.”
Teacher Sri Veeresh Patil in his address advised the teachers to work with social responsibility. When teachers find overflowing enthusiasm among children they should encourage them and strive to hone their skills in their area of interest.
The camp commenced with a prayer followed by yoga and meditation sessions. The participants took part in desi games enthusiastically, held in the evening.
