Suttur, August 8, 2025: “In the eternal culture, walking the right path with faith in Guru, Linga, and Jangam leads to liberation,” said Sri H.B. Devanna during his discourse on the 16th day of the Shravan month at Suttur Srikshetra.
Explaining the concept of the moving soul, he described it as the eternal spirit—boundless, mobile, conscious, and impermanent—embodying the essence of Shiva. Such a soul transcends bodily, mental, and spiritual limitations, unaffected by praise or criticism. Citing Basavanna’s words, he compared the role of the Jangam to that of a washerman who removes impurities, emphasizing that humility—seeing oneself as younger than all—destroys ego and opens the vision of God.
Sri Devanna narrated the story of Sediraja, one of the 63 Puratanas, who demonstrated that unwavering faith can turn bitterness into sweetness. Even when deceived by his nephew in the guise of a Jangam, Sediraja welcomed him with devotion. The treachery ended in divine grace—Lord Shiva appeared, granting Sediraja liberation and the rank of Gana in Kailash for his steadfast faith in Guru-Linga-Jangama.
The program began with a mass prayer and saw active participation from devotees and spiritual seekers. Services were rendered by Mrs. S.G. Naveni, Mr. H.S. Krishnamurthy, Mr. M.A. Mohan, Mr. M. Nagendra, Mrs. Maramma, and children.
