Mysuru, Mar. 20, 2021: “Though many people had a desire to study there was a lack of knowledge. But the situation today has changed due to the advent of science and technology. There are several sources of gaining knowledge. You just should have the interest to learn. You should make good utilization of your learning and research. Fulfillment of a good society is possible only from knowledge,” opined Prof.G. Heamnth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a program titled, ‘Abhivinyasa,’ organized at the JSS College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Ooty Road, Mysuru, for the benefit of new PG students of the College. In his address, he said, “Today education has become very essential for everyone. Due to the contribution of several Maths, everyone is getting an opportunity to pursue education. This college has 14 PG departments and has given stress to teaching and research activities like the University of Mysore. Today skill-based education has become very essential for the employment sector. Hence, try to get skill-based education,” he advised the students.
Presiding over the program, Prof. S.P. Manjunath, Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha said, “Paramapujya Rajendra Swamiji knew the problems of the educational sector and thought to fill the gap. He especially wanted to prevent students in the rural areas from getting deprived of education and hence provided education and boarding facilities to them. You should all follow in his path. Today we are all in the competitive world. The JSS Mahavidyapeetha has opened training centers according to the need. Utilize it properly and get a good job,” he advised.
In his introductory speech, Prof. B.V.Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College explained, “Our college has gained respect and status. It has secured NAAC ‘A’ certification. The ‘JSS Radio 91.2 MHz Community radio will start functioning on the College campus soon. There is a wide range of research subjects for you to pursue. The College provides you all the facilities you need to pursue research. The College also is providing the skill-based education required for today’s employment sector. Students should utilize it and fulfill the dreams of their parents and the society,” he added.
Earlier the program commenced with an invocation by student Kum. Sannidhi. Principal Dr. H.C. Honnappa welcomed the guests and the gathering. Dr. R. Suhas compered, Dr. Kumudini Achi gave a vote of thanks.
